Write it Down, Make it Happen

I am currently reading Write It Down, Make It Happen: Knowing What You Want And Getting It authored by Henriette Klauser. The book was recommended by a couple blogs that I enjoy reading, so I figured it would be good to add to my to-read list. Last time I went to the library, it was about the only book available from the “to-read” list, so I picked it up and began reading. The premise of the book is to simply write down your goals and you will be amazed at how those goals will come to fruition. The goals can be long-term goals, or short-term, immediate goals. I am only through the first couple chapters, so I don’t have much more about the book than that.

Getting this book is interesting timing as earlier this week, I had a couple people encourage me to begin writing. I had shared with a few people a sense I had that God has placed on my heart. To help me decipher what that may be, they encouraged me to write.

However, the book and the conversations are not what I am amazed at right now. I am amazed at the providence of God. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” And Philippians 2:12-13 says “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

God is working in my life, I have no doubt. Paul tells me in Philippians that He works in me to fulfill his good purpose. So, even though I am not sure where the next steps will lead me, I am confident that God is in control. He continues to weave together a fabric of my life and the current pattern of experiences, conversations with people, and prayers in and around my life are preparing me for the path He has chosen for me. All I can do is be obedient to Him, rest in His peace, and trust His lamp shining at my feet. And for now, I will continue to write as God is using this discipline to clarify things in my mind.

What kind of fabric or pattern is God weaving in your life today?
